Realme 6 smartphone

realme 6

Realme has managed to earn its position in the Indian smartphone market in a very short time, thanks to its bullish approach that, sort of, is based on what Indian consumers want. Realme has proven that it is here to fight and win the race, and that confidence comes from the phone it makes. Realme 5 series, which debuted last year in India, sold an appreciate number of units, so much so that the brand launched about four variants under the series. Traditionally ideally, the successor to the Realme 5 should be the Realme 6, which has just debuted in India. but Realme has a different game plan, it seems

Realme 6 does not take over from the Realme 5, instead, it has been termed the successor to the Realme 5 pro. The Realme 6 is the new pro as was said by Realme CMO Francis Wang. since the Realme 6 now heads the entire numbers series of Realme, it ought to have the features and specifications, and most importantly, the oomph factor in it. The Realme 6 has a 90Hz display, which is incredibly impressive, for its price.

Realme 6 Design and Display

Realme 6 has a beautiful design, The rear surface of the Realme 6 refracts light in a slanted manner that converges towards the bottom of the phone. Realme calls this a comet like design, which is why the colour options are called Comet White and Comet Blue.

The back has the four cameras that vertically aligned the design that Realme is using across its phone maybe about retaining the uniformity, Realme has done a commendable job in keeping up with the expectations of consumers when it comes to not only specifications but also design. That makes me wonder why Realme would choose to stick its tried-and-tested manner of putting cameras on almost all its smartphones. For what is worth, Realme knows phone design matters and it hopefully will deliver. Moreover, the camera island protrudes from the surface, making it prone to scratches when kept against a hard surface. But, Realme has put a metal rim all around the island, which lessens the impact but by only so much.

Realme 6 has curved edges on the sides to prevent the prod on the palm. The rear edges also a little slanted towards sides, which makes for the firm grip. The Realme 6 has the volume rocker on the left and the power button on the right side. Nothing interesting about it except that the power button now mounts the fingerprint sensor as well. It was convenient for me to unlock the device instantly because the sensor is where the thumb usually touches the phone side. The fingerprint sensor is also fast and recognize the pattern almost instantly.

Display Type                                                  IPS LCD
Screen size (inches)                                       6.5
Touchscreen                                                   Yes capacitive touchscreen, multi-touch
Resolution                                                      1080*2400 pixels
Protection type                                               Corning Gorilla Glass
Bezelless Display                                           Yes with punch-hole display
Refresh Rate                                                   90 Hz

I found the display vibrant and capable of producing correct colours. Under the sunlight, the screen is legible, but the reflection could make things hard for you applying an anti-reflecting should help. The display is set to natural mode by default, but you can change the temperature of the display in the settings.

Performance

Chipset                                                          MediaTek Helio G90T
Processor                                                       Octa-core
Operating system                                          Android 10
RAM                                                              8 GB
Internal Storage                                             128 GB

About Gamers, I was expecting a smooth performance and I was not disappointed. The Realme 6 handles gaming quietly well. I could feel any jitters or frame drops in the games, even when they were set to the highest settings. Although, the Realme 6 does begin to heat after a few minute of continuous game play that is not worrisome. Realme has said the Realme 6 comes with dual-layer graphite and a copper foil to dissipate the heat, which, i think, works quite well.

Battery

Capacity                                                          4300 mah
Type                                                                Li-ion
User Replaceable                                            No
Quick Charging                                              Yes
USB Type                                                       Type C

Realme 6 Camera

For Realme, Cameras have been important. It has packed some impressive cameras on its phone that not only revered previously but also take on their counterparts available on rival phones. The realme has four rear camera a 64-megapixel primary camera an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel mono (portrait lens) camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. For selfies, there is a 16-megapixel camera. with Realme UI, the camera app has changed slightly but all the precious features are still there intact.

Camera Features                             10 x digital zoom, auto-flash, face detection
Sensor                                             CMOS
Physical Aperture                           F2.0
Shooting Modes                             Continuous shooting, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR)
Video Recording                            1920x1080 @30 fps, 1280x720 @ 30 fps

                                         Indoors low light

                                      Indoors night mode

The star of the show here has to be night mode. Realme has perfected the science of delivering an excellent low-light shot. Even without activating night mode, the shot is certainly usable for social sharing. The pixel binned images help keep noise level slow shutter still remain fast enough to prevent blur. However, details do suffer.

Videography on Realme 6 is also good. Realme has used what it calls the UIS on the main camera that stabilishes the videos for when i was walking or running. The stabilisation feature is effective to a certain extent.

The selfies on the Realme 6 turn out to be good as well. Although there is some exposure of the background, the face is still detailed well by the camera. The AL beauty mode is turned on by default and you may not need to turn it off. I however, disabled to check it natural photograph that the camera can click. The portrait that the camera can click. The portrait is also available on the front camera.

Verdict

After analysing pretty much everything on Realme 6, I have come to conclude that it has got everything right for its price a 90 Hz display that is convincing, a fairly powerful processor to handles tasks and allow gaming, a decent cameras, and arresting design. Except for the processor, the Realme 6 and Realme 6 pro are identical which and why you should go for the Realme 6, I believe.

At a price of Rs. 12,999 onwards, the Realme 6 is a great deal, i would say. Since affordability is at the core of Realme`s phone business, You will not be disappointed if you spend Rs. 12,999 for Realme 6.
